Check Out this HOT UFC Website
UFC The Beginning
In November of 1993, an event took place which would redefine the martial arts community. This event was known as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, an idea conceived by a number of people, including Robert Meyrowitz, Rorion Gracie, and Art Davie.
This event featured eight martial artists of different styles and experience in a winner take all tournament. The event was billed as having no rules and was the first of its kind in North America. This unique event did in fact have two rules (no biting or eye-gouging), and took place in The Octagon, an eight-sided ring based on the ideas of a Hollywood producer.
The fighters who competed where relative unknowns, with a variety of styles from Karate to Japanese Shootfighting. The favorites to win the event where Ken Shamrock, a well built shootfighter who had made a name for himself in Japan and Pat Smith, a brash and cocky kickboxer. However, the man who stole the show, and also revealed a new style of fighting to North Americans was Royce Gracie, a lanky lightweight fighter who represented Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, a groundfighting style modified and perfected by the Gracie family in Brazil.

Bisping Decisions Leben, Wins Third Straight at 185By Thomas Gerbasi
The UK can rest easy tonight. At a packed National Indoor
Arena in Birmingham, England Saturday, national hero Michael Bisping passed his sternest test in the middleweight division, scoring a unanimous three round decision over Chris Leben in the UFC 89 main event.
Scores were 30-27 twice and 29-28 for Bisping, who is now 3-0 at 185 pounds.
“It was a tough fight,” said Bisping. “That was the whole gameplan, take my time, stick and move, and get a unanimous decision.”
With the crowd roaring, Leben calmly stalked Bisping, landing with a series of kicks to the body and midsection. Bisping took his time getting into the offensive column, eventually scoring with some quick counters as he used all of the Octagon real estate to stay out of harm’s way. Leben wasn’t rattled as he kept trying to push the pace, but as the round progressed, he was starting to eat more and more flush counter shots, leaving his nose bloodied as he went back to the corner.

Petruzelli in center of Elite XC storm
By Dan Wetzel, Yahoo! Sports Oct 7, 5:55 pm EDT
Seth Petruzelli, after going from nobody to national celebrity for punching out Kimbo Slice, went on the radio Monday. He delivered a shot potentially more powerful than anything he threw Saturday.
He said his original plan against Kimbo was to get him to the ground and exploit his weak wrestling skills and submission defense. It made more sense than trading punches with a street brawler who outweighed him by 30 pounds. Petruzelli said he changed his mind though.
“The promoters kind of hinted to me, and they gave me the money to stand and trade with him,” he told “The Monsters in Orlando” radio show. “They didn’t want me to take him down, let’s just put it that way. It was worth my while to try to stand up and punch with him.”
The quote spoke of an attempt to if not rig the fight, then make it favorable for Slice, the main star and cash cow of the EliteXC promotion.
Such an action would be a disaster for mixed martial arts as it attempts to convince mainstream audiences it isn’t scripted pro wrestling or a farcical Toughman contest. If EliteXC gave Petruzelli money to fight one way, it would open itself to all sorts of investigations.
The allegation rocketed around the country, making bigger post-fight news than pictures of Petruzelli in drag (more on that later. Needless to say, it’s been a wild couple of days for him).
EliteXC’s Jared Shaw immediately denied the fixing charge to Yahoo! Sports and fellow executive Jeremy Lappen did the same to Sherdog.com.
Tuesday, Petruzelli said he got the story confused.
“What that meant was they offer a knockout bonus, submission bonuses, fight of the night bonuses,” Petruzelli said in a phone interview. “I think it just got misconstrued. I wanted to have an exciting fight and I wanted the knock out bonus so I wanted to keep it standing.”
So did they say anything about keeping the fight off the ground?
“They just said, ‘we want to see an exciting fight no matter what happens.’ I took it as I wanted the knockout bonus.”

Cage Fighting In Arizona
This is good news: Promoters hope cage fighting catches on in Arizona.
A more intense form of cage fighting has begun in Arizona in what state leaders say could become an economic knockout.
The first show under a new law that eases rules involving mixed martial arts was held Saturday night in Prescott Valley. And a Glendale training facility created a fight organization to take advantage of the new law. The first event for EVO MMA, short for the Evolution of Mixed Martial Arts, is next Saturday at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix. Nine fights are scheduled.
It's a young sport, but a good one.
Cage fighting had its first U.S. event in 1993. The no holds barred sport targets younger fans who grew up playing Mortal Kombat video games and are now willing to pay for loud, fast-paced entertainment.
In cage fighting, two opponents face off in a giant cage, striking each other with fists, feet and knees. They also use grappling techniques on the ground for chokeholds or other moves to inflict pain - almost anything to get their rival to concede...
"I think we're going to see an explosion in the sport," Paton said. "I imagine sometime this winter, you're going to see some serious bouts here.
Cage fighting is great, but I would add a few new rules:
No referees.
Concealed weapons are allowed.
The match continues until one of the athletes dies.
