The Different Rules of Kickboxing

I got this artical from the Sher Dog Website telling you all the different styles of kickboxing. The match I was watching had oriental rules meaning elbows and knees are allowed.here is the artical...

Kickboxing do not have any unified rules. There are as many variations in kickboxing rules as there are kickboxing organizations. More actually, since many organizations have more than one set of rules.
Japanese kickboxing (or oriental rules kickboxing) allows knees, clinch, elbows and whatever (they used to allow headbutts and throws too). Shootboxing (a japanese kickboxing organization) also allows standing submissions and throws.
Shin-karate is a meld of knockdown karate and kickboxing. It allows kicks, knees and punches anywhere, but no elbows.
American kickboxing tend to only allows kicks above the waist. No knees, clinch or elbows. European organizations tend to also allow lowkicks, and occasionally knees.
French Savate allows shoes (not foot-padding but actual shoes), which makes kicking with the point of the toes a valid weapon. Chinese Sanda allows knees throws -and sometimes elbows.

Also point scoring vary to a great degree between the organizations.
Sometimes, like in muay thai kicks (except lowkicks) are scored high and punches (and lowkicks) are scored low. But other times kicks and punches are scored equally

K-1 kickboxing allows knees, but no clinch (since they make for slow fights. They used to be allowed clinch throw one knee and then release, but that was banned since it was difficult to enforce -see Overeem vs Teixeira in the 2009 championship) -although you are allowed to do onehanded hooks+knees- and no elbows (since they cause a lot of cuts and resulting premature stoppage).
Throws are not scored or allowed in k-1, but they have been lax in enforcing this (see basically any 2009 fight with overeem).
In Muay thai kicks that hits the arms are scored as hits. In k-1 kicks to the arms are counted as blocked, and are scored as misses.

Cage Fighting Artical on how not to LOSE

Surfing the web I found a website about cagefighting. they have a different opinion on how dangerous cage fighting but I was reflecting more on the UFC organization there are other organizations that go by some different rules in the MMA sport here is some of the artical from How To Fight . org....

Cage fighting is a martial arts sport that has come to be synonymous with mixed martial arts, although mixed martial arts can be fought in any type of arena.

The cage in this case refers to the high metal wire enclosure that surrounds the fighting platform.

Practitioners of the sport typically come from many different disciplines, and cage fighting techniques usually involve everything from boxing to kicking to wrestling holds and take down maneuvers, and in some cases, even street fighting techniques.

It is one of the most brutal and physically demanding combat sports around today, and the potential to suffer a permanent injury or even to be killed in the ring is ever present.

There are three distinct phases to combat in cage fighting. These are stand-up, clinch and ground. Each of them requires entirely different sets of skills, and most combatants typically excel in only one or two of these.

There are fighters however, who have worked to develop their skills to an extraordinarily high level in all phases.

The Victorian Government Does not like the UFC

It seems that New York is not the only one that Does not like MMA sports action. In December 2007 the Victorian Government banned MMAsaying it does not meet there standerds of sports entertainment the argument is the same argument in New York that the UFC will make a positive impact for the econimy in where events are being held.In my opinion the UFC is one of the most safest sports to get in to. the fight are moniterd very cafefuly and the safety of the combatents are UFCs #1 priority.if you wont to know more about the opinions of the Victorian Government you can go to the back page website by clicking the title above...

About the WEC

When they were still operating as WEC I always thought its weight class was light and feather weights. When infact they had all weight classes middle heavey weight and heavey weight.I am still in vietnam at the Mui Ne beach and I was flicking through the channels and they had a WEC fighting event on TV the fights were really cool to watch but I saw that they had guys 230 and up that were fighting which surprised me.

With that said WEC is now part of the UFC.Maybe Dana White did not want the same problems for WEC like what happoned to the WWF which had to change its name to WWE because they had the same name as the Wold Wildlife Fund.WEC also stands for WEC International a different organization lets see what happens in the future.I posted the website for the WEC you will see an error just go to the home page after you clicked the title above,it will take you to the UFC Website.complicated I know but thats the way the UFC likes to do things ;)

Dancing with the Stars concept

I had a thought. The Idea with Dancing with the Stars was to take famus people in entertainment or in sports team them up with a professional trainers in dancing.the pros then teach the novice star different dances such as the waltz, paso, quick step etc.The pos has 1 week to teach the star how to peform the dance.to mak a long stoy short the winner is the dance team who has the hightest score and the most votes from you at home.and does not get eliminated in around the course of 6 weeks win a big mirror ball trophy.

now you are asking what does this have to do with UFC/MMA?Not much by itself but The Ice Man Chuck Liddell was a contender once.He did pretty good lasting just before they had to do 2 dances. He did better then I expected anyway what made this show so popular is people want to see stars out of there element doing something the have no Idea of doing.

I was wondering why dont the UFC or Spike make a show wher you take superstars pair them with an UFC expert and put them in the octogon in the course of 6 weeks and the winner is the one who will make it at the end.Chuck Liddill could train Brono from DWTS Tito could train Donald Trump to Fight Rosie O Donnald all joking aside I thing it will be a hit show.So if you see a hit tv show MMA Fighting With The Stars you will know that I thought of it first.

If you know more about of that people thought of Chuck Liddell joining DWTS go to the wrestling talk website by cligking the title above the cool picture i got from this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Liddell

The UFC Taking Over The MMA World

Zuffa and Dana White is now working on the next installment on the UFC empire. The UFC will buy out Strikeforce Josh Barnett is willing to work with Dana White on this venture. This latest take over raises a few questions for me.In the recent years the UFC took over Pride and WEC is the UFC becoming the new BELL/AT&T.The government forced them to split up because they were becoming a monopoly.I feel that the UFC is heading toward the same direction.Time will only tell.If you want to find out more about the UFCs latest purchase go to the BJJ for MMA website by clicking the title above....

UFC Fighters Tweet Blogs

Welcome to UFC Fighters Tweet Blogs, home of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) on Twitter. What is a tweet blog? Well, Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service where people go online and share their thoughts, photos, news or just to chat and gossip, these are commonly known as 'tweets' and it's become a massive worldwide hit and very popular. Even though Twitter is so popular, it does have a few draw backs such as most people using 'nicknames' instead of their real names and people tweeting, re-tweeting and posting messages on their pages so in the end it's difficult to distinguish who is saying what and what the actual person you are following is writing and-as any Twitter user will tell you, this can become very, very confusing and frustrating and if you are following a popular person on Twitter it becomes much worse due to the fact that if they are popular, they generally have a lot of followers and friends posting things, that is why this site has been born and it's also for those whom aren't on Twitter.

UFC Fighters Tweet Blogs are live Twitter feeds of UFC fighters, staff, MMA personnel and fans that use Twitter regularly. Here you can see what they are all saying on Twitter, as and when they say it, as it's live, without all the confusion as it only shows what they themselves write or want to share, such as photos etc... Making it very clear and much less stressful for those that want to stay up-to-date with the latest UFC and MMA gossip or want an insight of how the fighters' lives are and what they do from day to day, where they go and so on.

I checked it out and it looks really cool if you want to learn more go to the UFC Fighter Blogs by clicking thr Title above and if you the fans have a blog, website or artical you want to see on this blog you are always welcome to post here or email us at jandrbusiness@yahoo.com

Tito Ortiz Shocking Report

The UFC’s first-ever trip to the state of Washington has gotten a facelift. UFC President Dana White announced that Tito Ortiz has been forced out of the UFC Fight Night 24 main event, and Phil Davis will replace him and face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

An accidental training-session head butt forced Tito Ortiz to receive 22 stitches. An MRI and CT scan indicated no serious head trauma, but the wound was deep enough to force Ortiz to withdraw from the bout. No timetable has been determined for Ortiz’s return bout which White has referred to as a “must-win” match up for the former light heavyweight champion to keep his job. UFC Fight Night 24 is on March 26 at Key Arena in Seattle and airs live on Spike TV.

Davis (8-0) had been expected to fight Matt Hamill at April’s UFC 129 event, then Jason Brilz when Hamill was pulled in favor of a UFC 130 matchup with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Will we see more MMA/UFC Movies in the future??

When MMA was at is prime we would expect to see some movies reflecting the MMA sport in 2008 they released Never Back Down starring Sean Faris he plays a troublesome teenanger Jake Tylor who is lured in the underground fight club after getting beat up by Ryian McCarthy played by Cam Gigandet a spoiled rich kid who has everything he ever wanted and is the top fighter in the club.Jake gets help from Jean Rogue played by Djimon Hounsou a well known MMA fighter in the MMA world. He teaches jake how to fight MMA style always telling him to only use your skills for self deffence only.I think this was a pretty good movie but it is very predictable if you seen The Gambler,Coward of the County,or any of the Rocky movies you will know what happends in the end.in 2009 Fighting cam out was a more edgy look of street fighting and in 2010 the remake of the Karate Kid starring Jackie Chan and Jarden Smith.Loved the movie but it should have been the Kung Fu Kid because he is learning Kung Fu not Karate.

What will we see in 2011?Mabe an auto biography of some of your famus UFC superstars like Anderson Silva,Chuck Liddell or Kent Shamrock I would like to see movies like this then MMA superstars playing other rolls like Rampage Jackson playing Mr T in the A-Team well this is my opinion I am a big movie fan and I see a lot of movies.

If you have something that you would like to say good, bad or just to say hi you are always welcome to post on this blog,If you have trouble then e-mail me at jandrbusiness@yahoo.com and I will post it for you.

Thank you your loyal support.

The UFC WEC merger not GOOD for all!!

When the UFC decided to take over WEC.Dana White said that the WEC fighter will be a part of the UFC this will be good for everybody and the UFC will have several more weight classes to add to the organization. It is true that this merger had a lot of great benifits but some of the up in comming fighters who had air time will not have it in the UFC.Benavidez for example will not have his fight with Lovelandaired aired on the payed per view or on Spike TV.Benavidez is trying to keep a positive attitude about the whole situration and hope that oppertunities for him to show his skills in the cage will show in the near future. If you want to learn more I found a great artical by Michael David Smith about Benavidez struggle go to the MMA Fighting Website by clicking the title above...

Cage of Honor in the Fort Leanord Wood Area

Tickets on sale now for Cage of Honor
Wednesday, 24 February 2010
By Matt Decker
Leisure/Sports editor

Amateur mixed martial arts fighting returns to Davidson Fitness Center at 6:30 p.m., March 6, with Cage of Honor 37.

For those who haven’t seen a Cage of Honor event, get ready for a sport that mixes multiple fighting disciplines.

“It’s part boxing, part wrestling, part kickboxing — it’s very energetic,” said LoraLee Neubeck, Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Special Events Team member.

Fans who have seen Cage of Honor can expect a high level of competition, with five title fights on the line — along with a match that’s completely new for Fort Leonard Wood.

“We’re going to have a female fight, which is something they haven’t seen before,” said Aron Boswell, Cage of Honor owner.

“We have female fighters in the 140-pound weight class. They’re actually tougher than the men. Guys will get in the ring and circle each other four or five times. The female fighters just attack — they’ll just knock the crap out of each other. We’ve had several good (all-female) fights in the past, and once you’ve seen one, you’re going to want to see another one,” Boswell said.

One of the goals of the Cage of Honor organization is to give aspiring mixed-martial arts competitors an opportunity to showcase their skills. All the fighters involved in the Cage of Honor are amateurs, with several fighters hailing from the mid-Missouri area. Audiences can view the fight card online at fightforhonor.com

So people living in the Waynesville,Saint Robert Fort Leonard Wood Area don't forget to buy your tickets and If you need more infomation click the title above.....
